Oct 20, 2014: How To Read the Bible

Robert E. Webber

How do you read the Bible so that it nourishes the spiritual life with its unending depth? I have found that the way of the ancient fathers brings a person inside Scripture and continually feeds the spiritual life from within the story of God. . . . The apostolic way of reading and preaching Scripture is to see Jesus Christ as the subject of the entire Bible, the subject of all history. He is the single overarching story of all time. He is the meaning of the entire narrative of human history. He is seen everywhere. He is in every event.
