Feb 2, 2015: “Excarnation”

Robert E. Webber

To say that God is not communicated to us through visible and tangible signs such as gatherings of people, the words of Scripture, and the material reality of water, bread and wine is a rejection of creation as the handiwork of God. Ultimately, if carried to its conclusion, this view will reject that God was united to human flesh in the incarnation. The mystery of faith embraces the reality of the incarnation and an incarnational presence in the bread and wine.
