About the IWS Library
How to Contact
You may contact the Library by calling the IWS Office and selecting option 6, or asking for the library. That phone number is (904) 264-2172 or (800) 282-2977 toll-free from anywhere in the United States or Canada. The library staff may also be reached by email.
Most of the materials in the Library are shelved according to the Library of Congress Classification System. You can get an overview of how to find materials with the LC system here. The online catalog will list all available copies and their shelving location (e.g. Main Stacks, Reference, etc.) and library staff are happy to assist you in locating materials. Theses written by IWS students are shelved separately, by last name, and are available for use in the library.
The IWS Library collection numbers about 10,000 volumes (over 9,000 of those are cataloged in the computer database) and one subscription to ATLA+ Serials Database. The primary areas of concentration in the collection are Liturgy and Worship Studies. The IWS Library’s web-based integrated system provides convenient access to the Libraries’ collections. It offers a variety of methods for finding books, periodicals, and other resources.
Carol Sittema, Interim Librarian, holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Texas at El Paso, and an M.L.I.S. from the University of Texas Austin. She is chiefly responsible for assisting students with online research and the overall development of the collection. She can be reached at email or (904) 742-7080.
Ken Polsley, Library Assistant, holds a B.A. from the University of Iowa. Ken serves as the day-to-day face of the library, assisting students with access to IWS library resources, hardcopy and digital. He can be reached at (904) 264-2172 and email.
