“Worship needs a foundation in the theological disciplines, in the personal disciplines of spirituality, in the disciplines that create and sustain community, and in those disciplines that empower all the ministries of the local church. . . . Training in the disciplines of worship is the goal of the Institute for Worship Studies. We teach those who teach, lead those who lead and pastor those who pastor.”
After Bob Webber’s death, the Board of Trustees unanimously voted to change the name of the Institute for Worship Studies to the Robert E. Webber Institute for Worship Studies in honor of the vision, accomplishments and contributions of Bob Webber.
Bob was passionate about worship and about IWS, but mostly he passionately loved the Lord and showed it in his love for others. IWS was established so others could catch a vision for worship renewal, a vision that transforms the entire cosmos for the sake of Christ and his Kingdom. It is urgently important for us to stay focused on the mission we have been given with resolute determination. The world is in desperate need of the good news of God’s reconciliation through Jesus Christ, and we have the privilege of proclaiming that in worship, and inviting others to participate with us!
With only three weeks remaining in this fiscal year, we need an additional $30,000 in IWS Fund gifts. Would you please make a special gift in honor of the 15th anniversary of IWS by June 30? We consider your sacrificial investment to be absolutely vital in meeting our financial needs and advancing our mission of worship renewal, especially as we are going through the reaffirmation of our accredited status. Please join us in the mission of IWS through supporting the IWS Fund.
Thank you for your partnership and commitment to the Lord’s work in and through IWS.
The Lord be with you,
James R. Hart, President
