Online Town & Gown to be held October 24

Last month, the IWS COVID-19 Response Team determined that the IWS community of students, alumni, faculty, staff and trustees would benefit from a virtual Town and Gown update on IWS. At this event, you will have the opportunity to ask questions about the state of the school, including our accreditation status and why we decided to stay online for January.

After discussion with the staff and other members of the community, we have decided to hold this gathering at 10 a.m. EDT (GMT-4) on Saturday, October 24, 2020. The meeting will be held via Zoom.

Why Saturday?
Saturday is the best day to meet in light of the usual work schedules of students, alums, staff, faculty, and trustees.

Why 10 a.m. EDT on October 24?
Daylight Savings Time changes on Nov. 1 in the US, moving our time zone to GMT -5 and putting us 13 hours behind the most of our Asian students and alumni. It also means a 16 hour spread instead of a 15 hour spread. Having this virtual Town and Gown at 10 a.m. allows everyone a reasonable meeting time: 7 a.m. on the US west coast, 10 p.m. in Hong Kong etc.

Who will be in person to answer questions?
All administrators and the chair of the Board of Trustees will be available.

To help us be prepared, we are asking that you submit questions in advance by emailing email, although we will also entertain questions through the Zoom chat. We will close after one hour with a time of prayer led by Chaplain Dr. Nancy Nethercott.
