Aug 1, 2022: The Politics of the Kingdom

Robert E. Webber

The church is not to complete its work in the world through worldly politics. The church is a political order of a different kind. It is to be about the politics of the kingdom—the politics of forming and nurturing a society in the world that images the new creation through forming a people with Christian virtues and a Christian view of life. . . . that sees God’s work in Jesus Christ as the restoration of the entire created order. . . . The Christian vision of reality, informed by the politics of the kingdom, will keep the church free of particular political agendas so that it may speak to and serve the whole society as an alternative community.
