Aug 22, 2022: Christians In the World

Robert E. Webber

The concept of identification [with the world] stands in the tradition of Scripture that stresses the this-worldly character of the Christian faith. Its Christ-model is the incarnate Lord, the one who through living in the world can identify with the struggles and tension of life. . . . Christians are not a revolutionary society attempting to overthrow the governments of the world. They are good, upright citizens going about the normal business of working, raising a family, and participating in those aspects of society that do not require a compromise with Christian values.
