We are in Christ and through him in God. We are to continually grow in the likeness of Christ, who is the image of God. The more we grow, the more we discover how far removed we are from the perfection of God. So the spiritual life is a constant movement toward Christlikeness, and the spiritual life of each of us results in a collective good for the world.
