Dr. Robert (Robb) Redman serves as Academic Dean of the Robert E. Webber Institute for Worship Studies (IWS), bringing decades of experience in theological education, pastoral ministry, and worship leadership. His work continues to shape churches and worship educators around the world.
An experienced academic administrator, Dr. Redman has a proven record in program and curriculum development, course design and implementation, student achievement, and faculty development. He has been a leader in launching distributed (multi-site), hybrid, online, and Competency-Based Education (CBE) programs, combining innovation in delivery with a deep commitment to theological integrity and student formation.
The theology and ministry of worship has been Dr. Redman’s core academic pursuit since his teaching at Fuller Theological Seminary in the 1990s. His scholarship and leadership include serving on the editorial board of Worship Leader magazine, teaching at National Worship Leader Conferences, authoring The Great Worship Awakening (Jossey-Bass, 2002), and contributing to the launch of the Worship Educators Association in 2024—a professional association dedicated to fostering connection, collaboration, and academic development among worship scholars, teachers, denominational leaders, and practitioners. He is currently completing a biography of Chuck Fromm, a key figure in contemporary worship renewal.
Dr. Redman brings a distinctive perspective as an academic leader with significant ministry experience. His career has alternated between roles as program director, dean, and pastor—sometimes simultaneously—allowing him to bridge the worlds of academic formation and pastoral practice with insight, creativity, and faithfulness.
