Online Course Policies & Grievance Process

Mission Statement

The mission of IWS online courses is to form servant leaders in Christian worship renewal and education by delivering a limited offering of high-quality, fully online graduate courses which serve to enhance existing on-campus programs. The mission is articulated within the larger scope of the IWS degree programs, which focus on graduate academic praxis grounded in biblical, historical, theological, cultural and missiological reflection in community.

Student Complaint Process

IWS has a process for, and will make every attempt to resolve, student complaints within the Institute. If an issue cannot be resolved at the course level, students have the right to file a complaint with the Office of the Academic Dean. Please refer to “Correction/Discipline, Mediation, and Grievance Procedures” in the student handbook for the procedures to address the issue.

IWS is required to provide both current and prospective students with contact information for filing complaints with its accrediting bodies.

The Association of Biblical Higher Education

The Robert E. Webber Institute for Worship Studies is accredited by the Association for Biblical Higher Education (ABHE) to award master and doctoral degrees and certificates. The Association of Theological Schools

The Robert E. Webber Institute for Worship Studies is accredited by the Commission on Accrediting of The Association of Theological Schools (ATS) and is approved to offer the following degrees: Master of Worship Studies and Doctor of Worship Studies. In addition, IWS is approved for comprehensive distance education. If a student needs to file a complaint with ATS, visit this link.


The Robert E. Webber Institute for Worship Studies has been approved to participate in the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements. Distance Education students who have completed the internal institutional grievance process and the accrediting body complaint process may appeal non‐instructional complaints to the FL‐SARA PRDEC Council.
