I have been in one too many worship services where the focus was cheerleading for Jesus. I have done one too many hurrahs for Jesus because somebody made me feel guilty about cheering for a football team. Football cheering is not transferable to worship. Worshipers are not a cheering section for God. The problem with this kind of worship is not only that it is an accommodation to culture but that it is also a severe example of self-situated spirituality.
