To help with the seemingly never-ending task of putting song sets together, we’ve rounded up ten songs — some familiar and some new — for you worship leaders to use in your Easter Sunday worship service!
We know that coming up with a list of songs for Sunday worship that is more than just a setlist can be somewhat daunting — especially when it’s for a big holiday service. With Lent just around the corner (starting Wednesday of this week!), it’s got us thinking about one of the most important holidays in the church calendar. It’s so easy to use the same songs over and over — and while we do want our congregations to be familiar with the songs we sing so they too can join their voices in worship, Easter Sunday worship is a beautiful time to incorporate something new into your church’s song rotation to bring a sense of renewed hope, new life, and fresh expectation into the service.
Whether you’re planning Easter worship based on the lectionary, the entire Paschal mystery, or a specific Easter theme (the cross, the blood, the resurrection, Jesus as the King of kings), at least one of — or maybe even a combination! — the ten songs listed below will assist you as you plan for this year’s Easter service.
