Oct 16, 2017: The Shape of Worship

Robert E. Webber

In the ancient order of worship the story of Christ is communicated in two parts: the Word of God and the Table of the Lord. In the course of time, two other parts were added: Entrance to worship and Dismissal to serve. Thus, the most basic and rudimentary shape of worship is fourfold. . . . The sequence of worship not only unfolds the story of God’s redeeming love, but also brings us through the experience of that love.
