Here is the very focus of our spiritual life. First, we contemplate the reality of God incarnate, taking into himself our humanity and in that humanity being our sacrifice for sin on the cross, rising from the grave victorious over the power of evil, and thereby restoring creatures and creation to himself. This is the central contemplation of the spiritual life. We contemplate God’s wonderful works in our personal devotion and in our communal life in the church, in worship, in Scripture in Eucharist, and in prayer.
