God’s vision for us is a reversal of our present identity. . . . We are to turn from our present identity with the cosmic rebellion against God to become what God created us to be and to participate in God’s vision for the world, making the world a place of his visible presence. . . . Our spiritual identity is no longer with Adam but with Jesus. Due to our identity with Jesus, a new creation comes into being from the very day that a person is cut to the heart, and an about-face begins to take place.
