“Wonderful Words of Life” – June 2021 Chapel Series

Here are the six “Wonderful Words of Life” chapel talks from the June 2021 on-campus intensive session. Rev. Dr. Nancy Nethercott, IWS Chaplain, was joined by Associate Chaplain Rev. Dr. Walter M. Contentment


Rev. Dr. Nancy Nethercott, IWS Chaplain, opens the June 2021 Chapel Series on the Wonderful Words of Life with a talk on Contentment. The Scripture reading for the day was Philippians 4:4-13.

Rejoice


“IWS, I got to tell you, the sweet syrup of rejoicing began to flow all over my snow cone cup of life!” Rev. Dr. Walter Brown, IWS Associate Chaplain and Senior Pastor of Bethany Ministries in Jacksonville, FL, speaks about the word “Rejoice.” The Scripture reading for the day was Luke 1:45-55.

Trust


Chaplain Nancy Nethercott continued the “Wonderful Words of Life” on Saturday, June 26, with her talk on trusting God. The Scripture reading for the day was Proverbs 3:1-8.

Gratitude


Rev. Dr. Lou Kaloger, Professor of the MWS 503 course, speaks about the nature of gratitude as a life-giving practice in the midst of difficult circumstances. The Scripture reading for the day was 1 Thessalonians 1:1-5.

Blessing


Rev. Dr. Dinelle Frankland, Academic Dean and Professor of the MWS 501 course, helps us understand how to recognize the unfathomable riches of God’s blessings even in the midst of seemingly impossible difficulties. The Scripture reading for the day was Ephesians 1:3-14.

Hope


Chaplain Nancy Nethercott on allowing Hope to imprint on our hearts, and on the ways that Hope ties together the previous words in the “Wonderful Words of Life” series: Contentment, Rejoice, Trust, Gratitude and Blessing. The Scripture reading for the day was Romans 5:1-11.
